Kevin Allen Kohn, 67, of Port Allegany, PA, a former longtime resident of Smethport

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa.—Kevin Allen Kohn, 67, of Port Allegany, PA, a former longtime resident of Smethport, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023, in UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport after a long illness.
Born on Friday, February 10, 1956 in Buffalo, NY, he was a son of Ernest B. Kohn and Marlene Sullivan. Kevin was raised by his grandparents, Ernest H. and Myrtle Kohn of Smethport.
As a young boy, he spent time delivering milk with his grandfather. In the summer, he spent time in Emporium with his father and stepmother, Cassie Kohn. Kevin was a graduate of Smethport Area High School, Class of 1974, where he excelled in sports. Kevin participated in the first Big 30 Football game in 1974. He spent two years at Grove City College and then went into the workforce. He had a variety of jobs but spent most of his time as an over-the-road truck driver.
Kevin enjoyed storytelling, having a great memory for events that happened in the past. He was a huge John Wayne fan, lifelong Chicago Bears rooter, and also enjoyed watching science fiction shows and movies, golf, and riding his motorcycle.
Surviving are two sisters, Colleen (Walter) Ramsey of Coudersport and Julie Thompson of Tennessee; his extended family in Texas which includes Chris Peterson, Mary Peterson Neuman, Doug Peterson, John Hummell, Hannah Neuman, and Kalena Hummell; his extended family from Pennsylvania, Dave Kline, Jayme Covert, and Chris Murray; a special friend, Jerry Wyroski and baby girls, Stephanie, Niylena, and Lariah of Pottsville; and his former wife, Nena Burdick of Smethport.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, Kevin was predeceased by his beloved dog, Simon.
A private celebration of Kevin’s life will be held in the future for family and friends.
