Kettle Creek Valley Outdoor and Craft Show
Tired of fishing already? Take a break at the Kettle Creek Valley Outdoor and Craft Show on Saturday, April 13 from 9AM to 3PM at the Kettle Creek Hose Company in Cross Fork. A variety of local craft and outdoor related vendors and non -profits will be represented.
There will be several vendors with trailers outside including God’s Country Kettle Corn and SOD Family Maple selling kettle corn, maple lemonade, milkshakes and maple products. Precision Fly and Tackle Shop will have a trailer featuring fly fishing supplies. They will be available for casting demonstrations and answering questions regarding fly fishing. The Bureau of Forestry will have an information trailer to give out information about all the recreational activities available on State Forest lands. Quiet Oaks Campground is a rental agent for Polaris Razor ATV’s and they will be displaying some of the ATV’s they have available for rental.
A series of 30-minute talks will begin at 10:00am with Matt Schenck, Environmental Education Specialist for Sinnemahoning State Park.
Matt will be talking about the PA Bird Atlas project that will run for the next five years. It is a chance for folks to contribute to a large-scale citizen science project and assist with the data collection process in an effort to quantify the state’s breeding and winter bird populations. He will be followed at 11:00 am by Susan Schenck, Environmental Education Specialist at Cherry Springs State Park who will give a program on stargazing opportunities at Cherry Springs. When to go, how to find out about programs and events and what to bring when viewing the exceptional dark skies in our area. At noon, Cody Whipple, an Environmental Education Specialist with the Bureau of Forestry for Tioga and Susquehannock State Forests, will be doing a presentation on the ATV pilot program, where to ride, how to ride safely and on other recreational opportunities in the State Forest.
Some of the local organizations that will be present are the Cross Fork and Kettle Creek Tamarack Sportsman’s groups, Kettle Creek Fire Company, Kettle Creek Music Festival, Potter County Conservation District, the Susquehannock Trail Club and the Greater Renovo Heritage Park Association. Bureau of State Parks will have folks available. Vendors will feature handmade items and artwork, maple products, self-protection items, fishing and hunting related items, information on real estate opportunities and home improvement. Cutting Edge Designs will be doing laser engraving and will have a variety of handmade items including Top Call products.
Breakfast sandwiches and a chicken and biscuits lunch will be available as well as a dessert sale with great homemade baked items. There will be a bucket raffle with items donated by vendors and local businesses. Entrance fee is $3.00 per person, kids 12 and under free. Spaces are still available for craft vendors! All proceeds from the show go to the Kettle Creek Hose Company and the Kettle Creek Ambulance Association.
