Kerry J. “Cookie” Cook, 63, of High Street, Bradford, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023, at UPMC Williamsport.
Born on June 29, 1960, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Robert R. Hotelling, Sr. and Alice E. (Shine) Hotelling-Vecellio.
Cookie was a 1978 graduate of Bradford Area High School.
He did body shop work for his brother Bob Hotelling after high school. His experience there later led to owning and operating his own body shop, Cookie’s Auto Body, for several years. He more recently worked as a baker for Beefeaters, where he made his own famous dinner rolls a staple of the restaurant. He also baked for Slice of the 80’s and Kennedy Street Cafe.
He is remembered as always having a smile on his face and a wonderful sense of humor, always making everyone around him laugh.
Surviving is his wife, Lisa K. (Elrod) McKean, four children, Kara Cook, of Bradford, Devon McKean, of Bradford, Madison (Tommy) Lipo, of Edinboro, and Haydon (Jessica) Gangloff, of Ridgway, one granddaughter, Parker Gangloff, one sister, Brenda (Jerry) Johnson, Sr., of Bradford, one brother, Robert (Rose) Hotelling, Jr., of Bradford, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his biological mother Gloria (Cook) Fowler, and his sister Nancy L. Williams.
Friends will be received on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from Noon to 4:00 PM, at the Eagles Club for a Celebration of Life. Casey Smith will lead the Eulogy/Roast at 2 p.m.
