Kenneth B. Vosler, 71, of Erickson Drive, Bradford, PA passed away Saturday January 28, 2023, at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo after a recurring battle with cancer.

Born on May 19, 1951, in Marietta, Ohio, he was a son of Kenneth and Imogene (Williams) Vosler Jr. In 1998, he married Gayle Tantalo, who preceded him in death March 7, 2021.

Ken lived in several towns during his childhood, ultimately graduating from Westwood High School in 1969. He then enrolled at Rider College in New Jersey, majoring in journalism and competing in Division I wrestling. As a freshman, he went on a 23-match winning streak before suffering a severe knee injury in what would be his final competition.

Despite his journalism degree, he started his professional career at Saratoga Hospital, picking up respiratory therapy skills on the job. He accepted a position in 1978 at Westland Hospital in Detroit. In 1980, he accepted a respiratory therapist position at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

He spent the rest of his career as a fixture at BRMC. Along with his long career in respiratory therapy, he spent several years running the sleep lab. 

Away from work, he had many interests. He liked Great Danes; learning about nature; Western, comedy, and action movies; and following the Giants (football and baseball). He was skilled at paint and pen-and-ink drawings, woodworking, and crossword puzzles. He enjoyed making others laugh, especially with his Halloween costumes.

Survivors include his former wife, Nancy Berlin; two children, Kendra (Steve Schiappa) Vosler of Bradford and Adam (Kristina) Vosler of Hinsdale, N.Y.; two sisters, Jan York-Vossler and Mary Lynn (Jim) Johnson of Mason, Ohio; one brother, John Vosler of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Madeline, Jay, Avery, and Elliott; three nieces; and seven nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

There will be no public visitation, per Ken’s wishes. His children will announce a celebration of life for family and friends at a later date.
