Karin R. “Gina” Black

February 16, 1961 – November 26, 2024

Karin R. “Gina” Black, 63, of 104 Erie Ave., St. Marys, and formerly of Ridgway and Johnsonburg, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 26, 2024, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA following a brief illness. She was born February 16, 1961, in Enkirch, Germany, a daughter to the late Erich and Meta Ketterman. 

A resident of Elk County for the past several years, Gina had lived in Johnsonburg for over 20 years, Ridgway for 10 years and St. Marys for the past 2 years. She had previously lived In Michigan after emigrating from Germany.

Gina loved to spend time with her family, watch her grandson play football and she especially loved to play bingo. 

Gina is survived by 2 daughters; Bonnie Sayre of Johnsonburg and Chrissy Tippets (Jed) of Las Vegas, NV and grandchildren Alex Hoffman, Eric Hoffman and Jaden Tippets. 

She is also survived by two sisters; Goodie Kammel (Helmut) and Wiltraute Bender both in Germany. 

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a son Benjamin Straub. 

Funeral services for Karin R. “Gina” Black will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. 

Arrangements are under direction of Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 401 Chestnut Street, Johnsonburg, PA.
