Judith E. Nichols, 79, of Emporium, PA passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side Monday (Aug. 7, 2023), after a long, hard-fought seven-year battle with cancer.
Judy was born in St. Marys on Oct. 30, 1943, to Sherman W. and Marjorie June (Thomas) Allman. On June 17, 1989, in Roulette she married Theodore Nichols, who survives.
She was a graduate of Cameron County High School and was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Endless Mountains Methodist Church, both in Emporium. She loved Jesus and attending church, where she was a member of the Bell Choir. Judy was also a member of Cameron County Quilters and enjoyed gardening, camping, dancing, reading, crosswords, playing the accordion and especially spending time with her family and friends.
Through the years Judy was employed as a clerk in many Emporium businesses including Lundberg Pharmacy, Market Basket, Olivett’s, Sheetz and Flowers ‘N Things.
In addition to her husband she is survived by three sons, Richie Minich in Oregon, Karl Nichols of Knox and Scott Nichols of Corry; three daughters, Laurie Minich (Roger) Sibert in Colorado, Cris (Mike) Mallery of Kane and Beth (Paul) Stone of Bradford; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; and a very special Angel of Mercy, Jessica Mosher of UPMC Williamsport Hospice, and her team.
She was predeceased by her parents; a sister, Linda Lee Allman; two brothers, Gene and Gerald Allman; and two sons, Teddy Minich and Danny Pellam.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 10, 2023) at Coppersmith-Condon Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Dr. Andrew Spore, pastor of Endless Mountains Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Card Creek Cemetery, Roulette.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to a local hospice or charity of the donor’s choice.
