Judith Ann (Simson) DeVantier, age 80, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Saturday, November 11, 2023. 

She was born on February 10, 1943 in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late Emmett and Arlene (Byer) Simson and was married for 60 years to Pastor Peter A. DeVantier. 

Judy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Wellsboro, PA, a LPN for 40 years working in western New York and Wellsboro, PA, a camp worker at Camp Pioneer, Angola, NY and a cook at the Trinity Lutheran School both for 10 years. 

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, flower gardening, and watching wildlife and the birds.  She loved her cat and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

She is survived by her husband: Peter DeVantier of Wellsboro, PA, son: Brian DeVantier of CT, three daughters: Kim (Kerry) Taylor of North Tonawanda, NY, Heather (David) Benedict of Wellsboro, PA, Jennifer Pinto of Westchester, NY, sister: Jacqueline Rollison of Lancaster, NY, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. 

A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Wellsboro, PA.  A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Joe Weatherell, Pastor Barry Keurulainen, and Pastor Robert Foote officiating.  Interment will be in the Shumway Hill Cemetery, Wellsboro, PA.
