Judith A. Shippling, 85, of 421 Church Street, St. Marys, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024 at Pinecrest Manor.
She was born June 12, 1939, in Kane, daughter of the late Roy and Genevieve Yeager Nelson Mitchell. She was a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1957, and employed at St. Marys Area Middle School as a secretary.
On August 23, 1958, in Johnsonburg, Judy married the love of her life, the late Myles W. Shippling, who preceded her in death on August 15, 2019. They were blessed to share sixty-one years of marriage.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Carla Cannon (Michael) of St. Marys; a son, Aaron Shippling (Justine Salvaggio) of Elizabethtown, PA; a daughter-in-law, Ruthie Shippling of Cherryville, NC; two grandchildren, A.J. and Zachary Shippling; a sister, Victoria (Pontzer) Ehrhardt (George) of Lancaster; step-siblings, Elyse Long of St. Marys and Tom Mitchell of St. Marys; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Judy was preceded in death by a son, Brian Shippling in September of 2022; a sister, Patricia Nelson Polvino; and her step-father, Thomas Mitchell.
Judy was a member of the Maria Lutheran Church and volunteered her time at the local hospital gift shop. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. Judy was an accomplished chef and enjoyed hosting family and friends at home. She was always a good storyteller and was known for her āJudyismsā. There was nothing more special to her than her family and she cherished each moment spent with them.
A funeral service for Judy will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 1:00PM.
Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 12:00PM until the time of service.
