Joseph J. Wichensky, Sr., 85, of Bradford, PA passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.

He was born on December 6, 1937 in Bradford, the son of the late Harry and Ida Lewis Wichensky.

He attended Bradford Area Schools.

On February 22, 1957 in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Bradford, he married Dolores A. Erickson; who survives.

He served in the U.S. Navy from March, 1955 until his honorable discharge in November, 1958.

He was employed by the Bradford City Police Department as a motorcycle officer for his whole career; finally retiring as a Lieutenant.

In addition to his wife of 66 years, Dolores Wichensky of Bradford he is also survived by one son, Joseph (Gail) Wichensky, Jr. of Bradford; one daughter, Debra (Eric) Johnson of Bradford; one sister, Mary Ann Cunningham of Clinton, UT; one grandson, Daniel Wichensky; one granddaughter, Jodi (Kyle) Swanson; two great grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

At his request there will be no visitation or funeral services.

A private burial will be in Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Mt. Jewett.
