Jon W. Eilers, 63, formerly of Bradford, a resident of Atlanta, GA, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Atlanta, GA.

Born July 13, 1960, in Bradford, he was the son of the late Joyce Marie (Garrigan) Eilers and Norman Edward and Donna M. (Roslinski) Eilers who survive.

Jon was a 1978 graduate of Bradford Area High School and later attended The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.

In the early 80’s, Jon worked in the Bradford oil fields for National Transit. He began his professional career as an Investment Broker for Inacom International in Denver, CO. After moving to Washington, D.C., he leveraged his passion and knowledge of Engineering to launch a career as a Solutions Engineer for Honeywell Federal Systems and eventually PDA Engineering selling high-end CAD software to the Federal Government and their major contractors. More specialized government work took him to Atlanta, GA, where he eventually transitioned away from the corporate arena to becoming his own Contractor.

Jon was very passionate about his faith and attended Peachtree Road United Methodist Church and Peachtree Presbyterian Church and was very active with his Bible study and spiritual reading groups.

Jon was interested in many things. He loved all kinds of music and especially high-end stereo equipment. Research, wood carving, leathers, and material to polish and condition, cars, motorcycles, boats, and airplanes were some of his favorite pastimes. He was an extremely talented carpenter who could build and fix anything. But most of all his favorite pastime was just tinkering in his garage with his beloved dog, Goobs.

In addition to his father and stepmother, he is survived by one son, Dustin (Jess) Eilers of Corinth, TX, one sister Kate (Eilers) Thomas of Ocala, FL, and one brother, James (Carla) Eilers of Lebanon, IL.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in St. Francis Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with Rev. John Jacquel, Pastor, as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
