John Paul Copley, 45, Former Mt. Jewett, PA Resident
ALLENTOWN – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Paul Copley, a devoted husband, loving father, favorite uncle and cherished friend, who left us all too soon at the age of 45.
John was born June 12, 1978, and departed from this world Oct. 9, 2023, after a courageous two-year battle with glioblastoma.
John was born in Kane, raised in Mount Jewett and attended college at Clarion University and University of Pittsburgh, where he met his wife, Kendra, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in chemical and petroleum engineering.
A man of unforgettable character, John was a dedicated husband to his wife, Kendra (Krutilla) Copley of Weirton, W.Va., and a fountain of unwavering love for his two young daughters, Makayla and Madelyn.
John’s colleagues from Bayer, Avantor and Johnson & Johnson remember him not just for his professional competence but also for the camaraderie, laughter and warmth he brought to the workplace.
John had a love for gardening and the outdoors. Whether it was family camping trips, weekend hikes or trips to a garden nursery, he found solace in nature and shared that joy with his loved ones and friends.
His genuine kindness, willingness to lend a helping hand and ability to bring a smile to anyone’s face endeared him to many, leaving a lasting impact that will be remembered for years to come.
Though John’s time on this earth was cut short, the memories of his love and laughter will forever be cherished. In this time of sorrow, let us remember this beautifully unique soul-a husband, a father, a brother, a friend and a beacon of light in our lives.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Kay (Davis) Copley, and father, Robert Copley Sr.
Surviving siblings are Paula (Copley) Smith, wife to Ivan Smith of St. Marys, and Robert Copley Jr., husband to Kristie (Smith) Copley, of Mount Jewett.
