John H. Abrams, 74, 0f Fairground Rd., Gifford, PA passed away on Monday (March 27th,2023) at the Hamot Medical Center in Erie, surrounded by his family.
Born January 11th, 1949 in Bradford he was a son of Harvey and Patricia Smith Abrams. On March 29th, 1968 he married Linda McCleary, who survives.
He was a 1967 graduate of Limestone High School and had resided in Gifford ever since.
John spent the early part of his career as an over the road truck driver for many local companies, he then went to work for ARG in Bradford where he worked for many years until retiring in 2015.
Mr. Abrams was a member of the John Deer Tractor Club. He greatly enjoyed hobby farming and horseback riding, and also was quite a talented singer and guitar player and especially enjoyed playing Johnny Cash songs. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife of fifty-five years are one son, Jason (Robin Hewitt) Abrams of Gifford; two daughters, Lisa (Mark) Burdick of Mt. Jewett, and Laura (Mike) DeCasper of Athens, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Blayke Geer (Eric), Tyler Burdick (Abby), Jacob Abrams (Brooke) and Zach Abrams; as well as four brothers, Mike, Rod, Mark, Matt Abrams and one sister, Gayle Van Aulen.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Abrams.
As per John’s request there will be no public services held, private services will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
