Janice M. Rennells, 72, of Baxter Rd., Port Allegany
Janice M. Rennells, 72, of Baxter Rd., passed away Sunday (Jan. 8, 2023) in her home, surrounded by her family.
Born January 7, 1951, in Olean, NY, she was a daughter of Richard S. and Wilma A. Carlson Klein. On Oct. 23, 1970, in Port Allegany, she married Herman “Curly” Rennells, who died June 14, 2021. They were married 50 years.
Jan worked as a waitress for the former Elliott’s Bakery, former Kupper’s Kitchen, and a school aide with Port Allegany School District, but most recently in quality control with the Pittsburgh Corning Co., Port Allegany, before her retirement.
She loved animals especially “Bubbie” her beloved chimpanzee. She raised Bernese mountain dogs and a variety of exotic animals. Janice was known for her flowers and well-groomed farm, where she spent much of life, with her husband “Curly”.
Surviving is a daughter, Karmella K. Rennells of Eldred; three grand-children: Levi Mahon, Rikki Rennells, Janice Bair; and three great-grandchildren: Alaina, Olivia, and Lila Kay.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband “Curly”, a son, Joseph R. Rennells, and a grandson, Wade Kio.
A private celebration of life will be held Sunday (Jan. 15, 2023) at the family farm, with Rev. James Kazimer, officiating. Burial will be in the Rennells Family Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
