James I. Fetterman, 83, of 1145 West Washington Street Bradford, passed away Monday, December 23, 2024, at Bradford Manor.
Born July 2, 1941, in Punxsutawney, he was a son of the late Russell Charles and Helen Marie (Hall) Fetterman. He attended Punxsutawney High School.
On July 17 1959, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Jim served overseas for over a year, and was honorably discharged on July 16, 1963.
On February 10, 1973, in the Asbury United Methodist Church, he married Phyllis A. (McDonald) Fetterman, who preceded him in death on July 4, 2022.
Jim had worked at Trico Industries, Bradford Forest Products and he retired from Graham Packaging.
Jim was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed following the Pittsburgh Steeler’s and NASCAR, and an avid Jeff Gordon fan.
Surviving is two sons, Patrick Fetterman of Spring Hill FL, and Jim Fetterman of MN, one step son, Michael Newman of Johnstown, two grandchildren, Rylan Fetterman, Danny Newman, two great-grandchildren, Oliver Popolo, Wyatt Popolo, and one sister-in-law Sandy (Mick) McDonald of Bradford, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister Jean, and two brothers, Sonny and Danny.
Family will receive friends on Friday January 3, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 South Ave., at 1:00 pm funeral service will be held with Rev. John Jacquel, Pastor of St. Bernard Church officiating. Full Military Honors by the United States Marine Corp. and members of the Honor Guard of the American Legion Post 108 of Bradford will be accorded in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
