James A. “Jim” MILLS, 83, of Westfield, PA

James A. “Jim” MILLS, 83, of Westfield, PA, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025 at his farm doing what he loved, outside on his tractor with his faithful dog, Ladd, by his side. Born October 10, 1942, in Westfield, he was the son of Adrian M. and Elsie Mae Simmons Mills. Jim grew up in Mills, PA, where he worked on the family farm and raised a lot of cane. A 1960 graduate of Northern Potter High School, he served honorably with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1960 – 1964.
On November 28, 1964, he married Jacqueline K. “Jackie” Parker, who survives. He was employed by Agway in Addison, NY and owned and operated Western Auto in Addison, NY. Jim then worked as an on the road salesman for Supreme. Moving to Westfield in 1983, he and Jackie raised veal calves on their farm, retiring in 2005. He helped start Brookfield Maple Products. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and riding motorcycle. In his later years, he became a lover of books, frequenting the Westfield Public Library once a week to stock up.
Surviving besides his wife, Jackie, are: a son, Craig (Chikako) Mills of Okinawa, Japan; a daughter, Tina (Bud) Bowers of Westfield; grandchildren, Stephanie Neha, Matthew Yonohara, and Tyler Bowers; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was also a second dad to Jim Sarviss of Addison.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Pamela L. Bowers; three sisters, Wilma Nelson, Anna Van Etten, and Dorothy Nelson; and two brothers, John Mills and Terrance Mills.
Friends may call at the Brookfield Community Church on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon, with a Memorial Service following at 12:00 Noon. Rev. Timothy H. Miller will officiate. Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Tioga County Honor Guard. Interment will be in Brookfield Cemetery.
