I-95 is reopened!
It’s been less than two weeks since the overpass on I-95 collapsed, shutting down traffic on a critical stretch of highway on the East Coast.
Experts said it would take months to get I-95 reopened.
But because of the hard work of our outstanding tradesmen and women and our all hands on deck approach, we defied the odds and the road is officially reopened.
For too long, people have become accustomed to a government that doesn’t have a can-do attitude. Too many believe we can’t get big things done.
We changed that, James. We worked around the clock to rebuild I-95 safely and ahead of schedule. That’s what you should expect from your elected leaders every day.
Thank you to everyone who made this massive undertaking possible, from the Philadelphia Building Trades, to the folks who dropped off food for our workers, to our government partners, and to our state and local first responders who responded to this emergency and kept Pennsylvanians safe throughout. We couldn’t have done this without you.
See you out on the road!
