Hugh “Slugger” Rockwell, 73, of Brick Yard Rd. in Kane, passed away Thursday (Jan. 2) at Sena Kean Manor.  Born May 6, 1951 in Warren, he is the son of the late Hugh and Lois Rockwell. On March 18, 1977 in Kane, he married Cindy Chittester, who survives.

Hugh had worked at Kane Screens and more recently at Kellington Protective Services.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters Carrie (Dan) Dempsey and Tammy Grubbs; one son Scott (Cassie) Rockwell; eight grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; four brothers; Roger, Glenn, Kelly, and Clifford Rockwell; five sisters, Brenda (Albert) Steinbaugh, Wendy (Chris) Fisher, Sue, Yvonne, and Angela; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
