History Hike At Cherry Springs State Park
In a partnership with the PA Lumber Museum, Cherry Springs State Park is offering a free guided history hike on Saturday, September 14. Full press release below. Please share with your audiences! Cherry Springs State Park and PA Lumber Museum to Host History Hike on Saturday, September 14. 1 PM – 3 PM. All ages. No pets, please. Meet at the Kiosk on the Overnight Astronomy Observation Field (area with the two telescope domes)
On Saturday afternoon, discover the rich history behind Cherry Springs State Park with volunteers with the PA Lumber Museum and State Park staff. Walk around the fields visiting important locations while exploring how Cherry Springs grew from a small stop on a winding mountain throughway to a robust region hosting multiple Civilian Conservation Corps Camps.
Registration is encouraged to relay details about the weather. Walk will be about a mile over mostly level grassy and graveled ground. Please leave pets at home, they are not permitted at the park. To register, visit https://bit.ly/CHSPHistoryHike.
