Herbert D. Cox, III, of 6423 Habgood Road, Black Creek, NY passed away shortly after arrival at the Olean General Hospital.

Born October 31, 1977, in Olean he was the son of Herbert D. and Karen Taylor Cox, Jr.

Herbert was a graduate of Bolivar-Richburg Central School. He worked for many years at API Heat Transfer Inc., in Arcade and currently for Howard Traffic Control in Dansville.

He was a member of the New Hudson Fire Department and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in the woods.

He is survived by; his mom, Karen of Alma; his longtime companion Loni Malota; two children Wyatt and Arden Cox of home; his siblings, Tara Cox of Bradford, PA., Duane Cox of Scio, Zack Cox of Cohocton, Esther (Adam) Frazier of Friendship; many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins; several nieces and nephews, including Julia Metz, Aurora Middaugh, Alaina Malota, Kloe Malota, Skylar and Star Nichlas.

He was predeceased by his dad.

Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street, Olean, on Friday (September 29, 2023) from 12-2pm. Funeral services will begin at 2pm in the funeral home with Rev. Thomas Eastman officiating.
