Helen Ann Kartesz, 77, Of Kane, PA.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Ann Kartesz, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and matriarch of our family, who left this world on October 25, 2024. Helen was born to Edward and Dona Depto on December 15,1946, and was the eldest of her seven siblings, Paul, Sue, Elda, Randy, Jane, Lisa, and Jay. The love Helen exhibited for her dear siblings was a true testament to her nurturing spirit. Helen lived a life full of love, compassion, and unwavering support for her family. Helen Graduated from Kane area High School and obtained her teaching degree from Kent State University.
Helen married her husband, Andrew Charles Kartesz, on June 17th, 1972. She spent 52 of her 77 years as a devoted wife, always cherishing their lifelong love grounded in partnership, laughter, friendship, and kindness. As a mother, Helen nurtured their two sons, Dr. Andrew Charles Kartesz (Chelesea Leigh Vaughan) and Dr. Kevin Joseph Kartesz (Kara Christine Kartesz), with boundless love, instilling in them the values of respect, faith, hard work, and compassion. Helen took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to her four grandchildren, Chase and Elise Kartesz and Blake and Austin Kartesz. She adored her grandchildren, showering them with affection and creating countless memories that they will cherish forever. Anyone who knew Helen knew that being a grandmother brought Helen unparalleled joy.
As a passionate teacher at St. Marys and Kane High School, Helen dedicated her life to shaping young minds. Her enthusiasm for education inspired countless students, and her caring nature left a lasting impact on all who entered her classroom.
Helen was a devoted member of St. Callistus Roman Catholic Church where her love for the Lord and commitment to her faith enriched her life. Helen volunteered her time as a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Her faith was a cornerstone in her life, guiding her actions and strengthening her relationships with family and friends.
As the matriarch of the Kartesz family, Helen was the glue that held everyone together. Her home was often filled with laughter, love, and delicious meals. Helen enjoyed golfing and fishing with friends and family. Helen’s spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends who knew her strength, kindness, and unwavering love.
Helen is survived by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and four siblings. She was preceded in death by her siblings Jay, Sue, and Paul Depto. Helen will always be remembered for her kind spirit, her loving heart, and her commitment to family and faith. Though she may have departed this life, her love will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her loved ones forever.
The family will receive visitors at St. Callistus Roman Catholic Church on October 30th from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. William O’Brien as celebrant.
