Harlan R. Lindsay, 91, of Annin Creek Road, Turtlepoint, PA
Harlan R. Lindsay, 91, of Annin Creek Road, Turtlepoint, PA passed away Thursday (Oct. 19, 2023) in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.
He was born Oct. 21, 1931, in Wellsville, N.Y., a son of Gernell F. and Fay D. McNeil Lindsay. On Dec. 24, 1953, in Port Allegany, he married Cynthia M. Reese, who survives. They were married 69 years.
Harlan was a longtime self-employed dairy farmer, had worked for Annin Township for 15 years, and most recently, employed with G.L. Carlson Inc., Turtlepoint, before his retirement.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended the Birch Grove Mennonite Church, Port Allegany. He was a former member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, Port Allegany. He was also a member of the McKean County Farmers Service Agency, for many years. He enjoyed bowling, camping & hunting in Colorado.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Cynthia, are five sons, Michael H. (Barb) Lindsay of Port Allegany, Thomas B. (Judith) Lindsay and Douglas S. (Julie) Lindsay, both of Turtlepoint, Daniel F. (Tammy) Lindsay of Port Allegany, Kyle L. (Kelley) Lindsay of Dalton; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Jean M. Lindsay.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday (Oct. 23, 2023) in the Birch Grove Mennonite Church, Port Allegany, with the Rev. Dale Detweiler, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Annin Creek Cemetery, Turtlepoint.
