Gregory Sahm, age 72, of Bolivar, NY, went home to be with the Lord on August 12, 2023.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa; his sister, Annette and niece, Joahnna; his three daughters, Danielle, Emily, and Hannah; and three beloved grandchildren.

Greg was born in Lancaster, PA to Mildred and Harold Sahm. He earned his degree from Maryland University, where he graduated with honors. Later, he discovered a love of science and returned for his teaching degree.

Over the next 34 years, he enjoyed a career as a science teacher at Bolivar-Richburg Central School. In addition to teaching, Greg coached wrestling and tennis. He was a mentor to many generations of students.

In 1982, he married Melissa. They moved to Bolivar in 1988, where they went on to raise their three daughters. He was a respected member in the churches he attended, teaching Sunday school and leading neighborhood Bible studies for many years.

Greg was both a leader and a servant in his community. His friends and family knew him as hard-working and endlessly dedicated to his family. He will be dearly missed and always remembered.

The memorial will take place at Crosstown Alliance, 120 E. Honeoye Street, Shinglehouse, PA 16748, on October 14, 2023 at a time to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse.
