GRAND CANYON PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB’S OCTOBER DISPLAY AT THE DEANE CENTER FEATURES LINDA STAGER PRINTS
The Grand Canyon Photography Club’s October display at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts features prints by Linda Stager of Wellsboro, a digital artist and author.
“’Living on the Edge of Light’ is how I see the world and is the motto for my studio and my style of photography,” Stager said. “The world around us is magical. And finding that magic is my everyday goal. My father always said, ‘It’s a beautiful day in Tioga County’. My photography celebrates his favorite saying.”
The Gallery Wall, just off the Deane Center’s main lobby at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro, is hosting her photographs. Featured are some of Stager’s favorite views of Tioga County, including fall and winter seasonal prints of many places everyone loves. Framed prints range in size from 11 by 14 inches to 16 by 24 inches.
The lobby is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays except holidays.
After her retirement in 2013, Stager created her new career by writing “The Pine Creek Rail Trail Guidebook.” That effort also started her success as an award-winning outdoor writer and photographer. Stager is a PA Wilds Pro Level Artisan and a member of the Pennsylvania Outdoor Writers Association and of the Professional Photographers of America. Stager owns Suncatcher Lodge, her studio just outside Wellsboro.
Members of the Grand Canyon Photography Club displayed their works in the Native Bagel for many years. When the bagel shop closed, the Deane Center for the Performing Arts offered the group display space along the Gallery Wall, just off the main lobby at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro.
Photographer Bruce Dart of Mansfield created displays for August and September.
Each month, members of the Grand Canyon Photography Club, based at the Gmeiner Art and Cultural Center in Wellsboro are displaying photographs on the Gallery Wall.
