Gladys M. (Risinger) “Grandma Tootie” Ramsey, 93, of Shinglehouse
Gladys M. (Risinger) “Grandma Tootie” Ramsey, 93, of Shinglehouse, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at UPMC Cole, in Coudersport. She was born November 14, 1931, in Indiana, PA to Charles Edgar and Anna Marie (Sundburg) Risninger.
She graduated from Hilewood High School, and then completed beauty school. Glady was an accomplished beautician and owned Glady’s place, she also worked as a cook at Erway’s and was a Nurse’s Aide at Cole Manor. She was a member of the Andrews Settlement Methodist Church, was a loyal Bills fan, enjoyed crocheting and knitting and was active in the Shinglehouse Senior Center’s Stitchery Group, was an avid Bingo player, loved and cared for her dog fancy and enjoyed reading.
Glady is survived by her son: Stephen Hodak of Clymer, PA; two daughters: Sharon Benamati (David) of Clymer, and Roberta McGinnis of Shinglehouse; five grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband: Robert Ackerson, her second husband: Curtis Ramsey, her parents, three brothers, four sisters, a son-in-law: Raymond McGinnis, and two grandchildren: Christopher and Barbara Benamati.
