Gilbert E. Lentz, Sr., of Sartwell Creek Rd., Port Allegany, PA passed away Sunday (Aug. 6, 2023) in his home, from injuries sustained from a fire.

     Born February 9, 1948, in Coudersport, he was a son of Richard F. and Marcia Lininger Lentz.  In 1968 he married Patricia Anthony Lentz. In 1998, he married Lynn Reese, who died Sept. 30, 2016.

    Gilbert was a setup mechanic having worked for Emporium Specialties and Keystone Automatic of Emporium, before his retirement.

     He was a member of the Sartwell Creek Union Church, Port Allegany.

     He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting & fishing. He had his own sense of humor and loved both his family and church family.

     Surviving is a son, Gilbert E. (Wendy) Lentz, Jr. of Allegany, NY; a daughter, Marcia M. (Bo) Jaques of St. Mary’s, PA, his sister and best friend, Ruth Murphy of Monterey, TN; grandchildren, Xander Jacques, the youngest, who he adored, and his 3 adult grandchildren: Caleb (Nicole) Lentz, Courtney (Kami) Lentz, and Zach Wilber, and his step-grandchildren: Jessica and Mya May Woods, Matthew (Chelsea) and Eric Mowery; nieces, Cindy Brown, Sherri Garvin, Michelle (JJ) Reels and nephew, Norman Campbell; as well as longtime special friend, Bonnie Tripp of Roulette.

     A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday (August 13, 2023) in the Sartwell Creek Union Church, with Rev. Allen Long, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Sartwell Creek Cemetery.
