Geraldine C. “Gerry” Schloder, 78, of 111 Villa Road, St. Marys, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024 at her residence, with her family by her side, after an illness of the past three years.
She was born September 17, 1945 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Leo and Dorothy Frey Meyer. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a member of the first graduating class of Elk County Christian High School, Class of 1963. Gerry worked as a seamstress for over 50 years and was the owner of Gerry’s Bridal and Dress Shop from 1993 to 2000.
On September 19, 1964, in Queen of the World Church, Gerry married the late Paul Michael Schloder, who preceded her in death on September 8, 2023.
Gerry is survived by her daughter, Mary Lynn Carnovale (Paul) of St. Marys; two sons: David Schloder (Robbyn) of St. Marys and Michael Schloder (Shannon) of DuBois; eight grandchildren: Jacob Carnovale, Gina Carnovale, Lacie Goetz (Tom), Libby Bowser (Bryce), Logan Schloder, Atasha Schloder, Ariana Schloder, and Noah Schloder (Cheyeanne); three step-grandchildren: Tyler Reynolds, Alec Wehler, and Tyler Wehler; and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters: Mary Ann Wendel (Jerry) of St. Marys and Linda DiPoalo (A.J.) of Weedville; 10 brothers: Larry Meyer (Sheila) of Old Towne, ME, Ronnie Meyer (Norma) of St. Marys, Roger Meyer (Mary) of St. Marys, Richie Meyer (Shelly Halquist) of St. Marys, Kenny Meyer (Sue) of Grant, Jeffrey Meyer (Brenda) of St. Marys, Melvin Meyer (Linda Humes) of St. Marys, Michael Meyer of St. Marys, Andy Meyer (Chriss) of Kersey, and Tommy Meyer of St. Marys; and by her sister-in-law, Kim Schloder of St. Marys.
In addition to her husband and parents, Gerry was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Amy Meyer, and by her brother-in-law, Tom Schloder.
Gerry was a member of Queen of the World Church. She loved golfing, camping, traveling with her husband, shopping with her daughter, and playing cards. She found the greatest joy from spending time with her family.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 10:00AM, with the Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM.
