Gerald Joseph “Joe” Barr, 83, of Emporium, PA, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at his home.

Born in Buffalo, NY, on July 1, 1940, he was the son of the late Clair Lee and Christine Leona (Thomas) Barr, and the husband to Michele Rae Hall, who he married in 2010.

He is survived by his two children; Melody N. Duenas and Joseph B. Barr, both of Washington state, his granddaughter, Tia, and his wife, Michele. He is also survived by the following step children; Donald, Christopher, Kayla, Jessica, and Danielle, as well as many nieces and nephews. Joe was the last of his family, having been predeceased by all of his siblings; Clair, Marian, Eugene, June, Edna and Jane.

Joe was a cabinetmaker by trade, having worked for several companies in Washington State before retiring to Pennsylvania. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, riding his Harley, and collecting baseball cards and playing drums in his earlier years.

Joe was a member of the Emporium VFD and the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Emporium.
A Celebration of Life service is being planned in the near future at the family’s convenience.
