Gerald “Jerry” Rice, 69, of Wellsboro, PA
Gerald “Jerry” Rice, 69, of Wellsboro, PA passed away Friday, October 20 at UPMC Susquehanna in Williamsport.
He was born December 24, 1953, in Wellsboro, the son of Ralph and Margaret “Peg” (Cooney) Rice, and graduated from Mansfield High School.
Jerry was a maintenance worker for Tioga County. He married Lisa Borden in March of 1993, with whom he shared 30 years of marriage.
He was a member of the Tioga County Historical Society, and a long-time member of the Wellsboro Fire Department.
Relentlessly upbeat and cheerful, despite his battles with cancer and heart issues, whenever asked how he was doing, he’d respond “I’m Good!” and mean it. Jerry loved spending time with his family and tinkering in his garage.
Jerry is survived by his wife Lisa; two sons: Tim Rice (Kym) of Wellsboro and Shawn Rice (Retta) of Blossburg; four grandchildren: Hailey, Sydney, Gaige and Gabby Rice; and four brothers: Ralph “Tub” Rice (Susan), Leo Rice (Cynthia), Art Rice and Adrienne Hampson, and Jeff Rice (Connie); and his three dogs: Justice, Patriot, and his special boy Little Dude. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends and family are invited to the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main Street, Wellsboro, PA from 4pm to 7pm on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, to celebrate Jerry’s life, a memorial service will follow in the funeral home.
