Library presents Dissection Mini-Camp
The Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library is excited to bring back our popular Dissection Mini-Camp, with Pitt-Bradford Professor, Orin James on Tuesday, August 13 and Thursday, August 15 from 1-3pm. This program, open to youth ages 12-18, is a very special REAL DISSECTION program where you will get the chance to dissect a real lung and stomach.
This year, the program is being entirely funded in memory of Alan “Pickle” Poorman, for his love of science and education, by a friend and classmate. Poorman was a graduate of the Cameron County High School Class of 1961.
Participants MUST register for each program session separately! Space is limited so register now by completing the registration at www.barbaramoscatobrownlibrary.org/library-programs/ or by calling library staff at 814-486-8011 during regular hours. Register by NO LATER than August 9, 2024.
Tuesday’s Session: Learn the parts and structure of the respiratory system as well as its functions. Attendees will dissect an animal lung.
Thursday’s Session: Learn about the form and function of the digestive system. Attendees will dissect an animal stomach.
Sessions will be held in the multipurpose room of the Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library located at 27 W. 4th St., Emporium.
