Frances J. Jones, 80, of Gaines, PA, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at the Carleton, Wellsboro, PA. 

Born June 25, 1942 in Blossburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Letha (Slade) Cole. On June 19, 1957, she married John Jones, who preceded her in death in 2016.

Frances worked at Kane in Galeton for many years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting, photography and playing horseshoes.

She is survived by a son, Ronald (Amanda) Jones, TN; four daughters, Tammy Hamberger, Middlebury Center, PA, Cherie (Robert) Vannatter, Mills, PA, Deborah (Kevin) Weagle, Carlisle, PA, and Marcia (Hershel) Holsomback, Middlebury Center, PA; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Frances was preceded in death by a son, Rayford Jones, a grandchild, Jimmy Vannatter, and two great grandchildren.  

Friends may call at the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Galeton, on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 10:00:00-11:00am.  A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00am with the Rev. Keith Paris officiating. Interment will be made in the Sabinsville Cemetery, Sabinsville, PA.
