Olean- Frances E. Ouderkirk, of East Windfall Rd, passed away peacefully Monday (February 5, 2024) at home surrounded by her loving family.
Frances was born in Olean on March 2, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Rose Fahey Snyder. On September 2, 1961, she married David F. Ouderkirk, who predeceased her on November 3, 2021.
After graduation, Frances went on to get her beauty license. She and her husband owned and operated Daves Restaurant and Dave Ouderkirk Construction for many years. Frances also worked at the Olean General Hospital, retiring in 2001. She was a former vice president of the Christopher Columbus Lodge.
Frances is survived by her children, David W. (Lisa) Ouderkirk, Katherine (Timothy) DeYoe and Cindy (Michael) Keefe; grandkids, Joseph DeYoe, Krystal (Anthony) Travis, Samantha (Jeffery) Lampack, Colin Keefe and Saige Keefe; greatgrandchildren, Antoinette (Toni Lee) Travis, RoseMary Travis, Harland Travis and Bristol Lampack.
She was predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Rose; and her husband of 60 years, David; siblings, Ann Hirliman, Herbert Snyder, William (Bill) Snyder, John (Jack) Snyder and Mary Chapman.
Private funeral services for family will be held Thursday (February 8, 2024) at 1pm at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St, Olean, A celebration of France’s life for family and friends will be held Saturday (February 10, 2024) at 3pm at the Christopher Columbus Lodge, Olean. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
