Elk County- Liberty Pressed Metals Donates to St. Marys Area United Way 2024 Campaign
Doug Gaffey, Owner of Liberty Pressed Metals and Corporate Campaign Chair for the St. Marys Area United Way, along with Dan Greenthaner, Ken Mattivi, Rick Porter, Maura Fledderman, Jim Boroi, Lauren Wolff, Jarret Evans, and Rod Dippold, presented a generous donation to Jim Ryan, President of the St. Marys Area United Way, and Doug Bauer, Vice President of the United Way.
Liberty Pressed Metals, a local powder metal company based in Kersey, Pennsylvania, specializes in the design, engineering, and production of Powder Metals (PM) components for a variety of industries, including automotive, lawn and garden, office equipment, power tools, home appliances, and industrial and commercial conveyor markets across North America.
The company’s $2,000 donation will contribute to the St. Marys Area United Way’s 2024 campaign, which has a fundraising goal of $220,000. Funds raised during this campaign will be distributed to eligible organizations seeking grants in 2025. To qualify for funding, organizations must:
- Hold a current 501(c)(3) status
- Provide services to residents within the St. Marys Area School District
- Address health and human welfare needs
- Be registered with the PA State Bureau of Charitable Solicitation or qualify for an exemption.
Organizations interested in applying for a grant can call 814-781-6000 to request an application or visit www.smauw.org. The deadline for the 2025 grant applications is December 15, 2024, with grant awards announced in 2025.

Since 1925, the St. Marys Area United Way has been committed to serving the residents of St. Marys and the surrounding areas. The organization relies on donations from local businesses and individuals to support the financial needs of non-profit agencies dedicated to improving the health and welfare of the community.
