Elk County- GrafTech USA, LLC Makes Generous Donation to Support St. Marys Area United Way

Employees from GrafTech USA, LLC, a global leader in graphite electrode production, proudly presented a $5,000 donation to the St. Marys Area United Way in support of their 2024 campaign. GrafTech, known for its exceptional 133-year history, continues to be an industry leader by delivering highly engineered services, customer-first solutions, and essential products. The St. Marys facility is located at 800 Theresia Street.
The check was accepted by key representatives of the St. Marys Area United Way: Jim Ryan, President; Doug Gaffey, Corporate Chair; Jason Gabler, Board Member; and Leah Whiteman, Board Member. GrafTech’s generous contribution will directly support the 2025 grant awards to various local organizations, including Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, Boys & Girls Club of St. Marys, CAPSEA, City of St. Marys Parks and Recreation, Crystal Fire Department, Dickinson Center, Elkland Search & Rescue, Girl Scouts of Western PA, Guardian Angel Center, St. Marys Ambulance, St. Marys Area School District, St. Marys Library, West Creek Recreational Trail, and the Veterans Memorial-Eternal Flame located on the Diamond in downtown St. Marys.
Celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2025, the St. Marys Area United Way has been dedicated to serving the citizens of the City of St. Marys and surrounding counties since 1925. The organization relies on the support of generous contributions from businesses and individuals within the community. These donations help meet the financial needs of local non-profit agencies that provide essential health and human services to the region.
