Elizabeth A. STAUB, 96, of Austin, PA

Elizabeth A. STAUB, 96, of Austin, PA, formerly of Mechanicsburg, died Friday, March 21, 2025 in UPMC Cole, Coudersport. Born July 2, 1928, in Enhaut, she was the daughter of Mason D. and Permelia Phillips Staub. She was married to Francis Gibson Staub, who predeceased her on March 13, 1988.
Elizabeth was employed by Commonwealth Bank of Harrisburg, retiring in 1976 and moving to Austin in 1983. An avid bowler, she was active in Wednesday night and Thursday morning leagues at Hickory Lanes in Coudersport. She was a longtime volunteer at Cole Memorial Hospital and served as treasurer of the Looking Glass Gift Shop for 25 years.
On October 11, 2012, she was made an honorary member of the Cole Memorial Hospital board of directors. Elizabeth was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Coudersport. She served as an elected auditor for two terms in Keating Township.
Surviving are: a son, Carl M. (Judy) Haas of Ellijay, GA; three grandchildren, Andrea Nichols, Clay Haas, and Jonathan Haas; two great-granddaughters, Kelby Nichols and Analee Nichols; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two daughters, Jeri-Lee Haas and Debra A. Getz; three brothers, Mason D. Staub, Jr., William F. Staub, and John H. Staub; and two sisters, Mildred Thompson and Vera Mae Manning.
Friends may call at First United Presbyterian Church, Coudersport on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, with Funeral Services following at 11:00 AM. Rev. Doug Orbaker will officiate. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 27, 2025 in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
