Edward T. Bosnik, 90, of 319 Sorg Street, St. Marys, PA.
Edward T. Bosnik, 90, of 319 Sorg Street, St. Marys, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home.
He was born February 3, 1934 in St. Marys, son of the late Frank and Frances Koss Bosnik. He was a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1952, and retired from Straub Brewery. He enjoyed assisting in the building of the Bavarian Hills Golf Course and later worked part time at the pro shop there.
In the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in 1953, Ed married the late Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Straub, who preceded him in death on February 26, 2006.
He is survived by his three sons: Douglas Bosnik (Kyra) of John’s Island, SC, Peter Bosnik of St. Marys, and David Bosnik (Kim) of St. Marys; five grandchildren: Cameron Bosnik, Casey Holzgrefe (Kevin), Tricia Stauffer (Devin), Brittney Timm (Craig), Jesse Bosnik (Amanda); ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews that loved Ed dearly.
In addition to his wife and parents, Ed was preceded in death by two sons: Edward and Matthew, in infancy; four sisters, Francis Bosnik, Jane Ebbrell, Dorothy Burrs, and Adelaide Gustafson; and three brothers: Frank, James, and Richard Bosnik. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Ed enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing. In his younger years, he was a member of the St. Marys Legion basketball team and set a single game scoring record of 67 points in one game. He was very proud of this accomplishment. He was a parishioner of Queen of the World Church and former member of the Knights of Columbus and Bavarian Hills Golf Course. Ed took great pride in his family, especially his grandchildren. He would be found on the sidelines of any activity in which they participated cheering them on.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Queen of the World Church at 11:00AM on Thursday, November 7, 2024, with Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
