Edward John Salevsky Jr., 73, Of Middlebury Center, PA

Edward John Salevsky Jr. passed away on Friday, April 25th at the age of 73 after a nearly 3-year battle with ALS.
Ed was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 29, 1951 at Germantown Hospital. From a young age he had a passion for hunting, fishing, and being out in nature. As an adolescent, his love of the outdoors was exemplified by his commitment as a Boy Scout, in which he eventually earned the title of Eagle Scout. After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College and a Master’s degree from Penn State University, he attended veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania where he met his future wife of 42 years, Dr. Adrian Carlin Salevsky.
Upon graduation in 1981, Ed began his veterinary career at Morrisville Veterinary Hospital, which he would later own. In 1985, he and his wife moved to Wellsboro and opened the Wellsboro Small Animal Hospital. Two years later they bought the Veterinary Medical Center in Mansfield. Working at all 3 hospitals, Ed remained a dedicated veterinarian practicing surgery for over 40 years. Outside of work, Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, simply being outside to observe nature, and maintaining his property with pride.
Later in life he developed an interest in creating his own sausages and cured meats. Despite his many interests, undoubtedly his greatest love and passion was that for his family.
He is survived by his wife: Adrian of Middlebury Center, PA, two sons: Jonathan (Molly) Salevsky of Wellsboro, PA, Eric (Jeannette) Salevsky of Middlebury Center, PA, sister: Elisabeth (David) Bilyeu of Glen Mills, PA, sister-in-law: Susan Salevsky of Leighton, Iowa, four grandsons: Aaron, Avett, Arlo, and Hudson Salevsky, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother: Elizabeth (Frisch) Salevsky, father: Edward J. Salevsky Sr., and brother: Stephen Salevsky Sr.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 2 to 4 pm at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. (www.carletonfh.com) in Wellsboro, PA.
