Earl Dean Tompkins, age 76 of Knoxville, PA passed away on November 25, 2023 at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY.

He was born in Pennsylvania on January 12, 1947 and was a son to the late Vern and Elna (Perry) Tompkins.

Dean enjoyed everything to do with the outdoors. He loved hunting, vegetable gardening, taking care of his property and mowing the lawn. Dean was always ‘running the road’, driving up and down the valley whenever he could. He was a proud Army veteran, serving 2 years and going overseas to Vietnam.

He was a member of the Knoxville VFW Post 6753 and Knoxville-Deerfield Fire Department.

Dean is survived by his loving spouse: Mary B. Cook of Lansing, NY and Knoxville; step-son: Perry (Paige) Cook and their children: Hunter and Mikayla Cook; grandchildren: Makaytive, Maleiyn and Mianyka Tompkins; brothers: Roy “Fred” (Lyda) Tompkins and Leonard “Bill/Dog” Tompkins both of Knoxville; sisters: Frances Dunn of Addison, NY, Mary Ellen Fitzwater of Westfield and Sharon (Randy) Heysham of Elkland; and sister-in-law, Judy Tompkins of Knoxville.

Dean was preceded in death by both his parents; wife: Bessie Tompkins; son: Nathan Tompkins; and siblings: Perry, Verna, Clarence and Anna Tompkins.

Per Dean’s wishes, there will be no services held.
