Doris L. Kio, 95, of Bradford, PA; Former Roulette Resident
Roulette – Doris L. Kio, 95, of Bradford, PA passed away Sunday (April 2, 2023) at Bradford Ecumenical Home, Bradford.
She was born March 21, 1928 in Fall River, MA the daughter of Maruice and Lillian (Boucher) Botelho . On April 22, 1944 she married Philip Kio.
She attended school in New London , CT and graduated from Hunnington Institution of Norwich, CT.
Mrs. Kio was always a hard worker helping Phil on the farm and driving school bus as the first woman bus driver for Port Allegany School District. She Also worked as a nurse aid for the Port Allegany Hospital, as a waitress at the ABC Restaurant and owned her own Grinder (Sub) Shop in Norwich, Connecticut.
She was a very social person. She enjoyed meeting people at coffee and for outings. She loved Christmas and would crochet items for friends and family. She was well known for her delicious fudge.
She is survived by three sons: Thomas (Carlene) Kio of Roulette, Corwin (Hope) Kio of Port Allegany and Dennis (Lou) Kio of Lufkin TX.
Twelve grandchildren, Twenty eight great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren
One brother: Maurice Botelho of Middleboro, Massachusetts
And several nieces and nephews,
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Philip Kio, Jr, one grandson Shane Cook, three brothers and two sisters, Mike Botelho and Sheila Ferry, Janet, James and Fred Valere.
In keeping with Doris’ wishes, there will be no services.
