Donald M. Davies, 85, of Marvin Street, Smethport, PA passed away, Friday, July 28, 2023 at the Bradford Manor.

Born on April 21, 1938, in Alliance, OH, he was the son of the late Donald Earl and Cornelia (McDowell) Davies. On September 3, 1962, he married Paula Karen (Conklin) Davies, who preceded him in death on July 23, 2019. 

After graduating high school he enlisted in the United States Navy on June 19, 1956. He was stationed overseas for three years of his enlistment, and he was honorably discharged on June 24, 1960.

He helped to rebuild Camp Cornplanter after it was moved from the Kinzua Valley to Scandia. He later managed the Elk Lick Boy Scout Camp in Farmers Valley where he became the ranger in 1972 to 1983. Don later worked as a finish carpenter for Dugan & Dugan Construction in Allegany, NY.

Surviving is one son, Michael (Cindy) Davies, of Bradford, four grandchildren, Debbie (Fred) Prestine, Crystal Spencer, Erin Keir, and Angel (Tim) Bickel, and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one daughter Jon Genevieve Dean.

Private services will be held for the family in Bridgeview Cemetery in Mt. Jewett.

Memorial contributions if desired may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
