Donald E. Bailey, age 85, of Westfield, PA passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Bradford Hills Nursing Home in Troy.

Born January 1, 1939 in Renova, PA, he was the son of the late Edwin and Dorothy (Swartz) Bailey. Don graduated from Renova High School in 1956.

Don loved working. He started in the gas field industry in his early years, then was a self-employed truck driver for Ward Manufacturing and hauled groceries for Food Lion and finished his career as the owner/operator of Bailey Excavating.

Don built a race track and two golf courses and was involved in many area school projects, donated and volunteered his time for local area emergencies and residents; helping with the cleanup after the 72 flood and the Kane tornado.

His proudest moments were working with “Red” Adair in the 1973 Tioga gas well fire and the Carmichael mine disaster.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Lisa Repard; children, Donald (Susan) Bailey of Westfield, Michael (Lori Ann) Bailey of FL, Thomas Bailey of WVA and Cathy Noble of Tampa, FL; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joanne Wilbert of New Philadelphia, OH, Jeanne (Doug) Pilot of Duncansville, PA and Peg (Eric) Lucas of Irmo, SC; sister in law, Gloria Bailey and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Bauer and a brother, Ed Bailey.
