Dixie L. Sutherland, 95, of Bradford, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at the Pavilion at BRMC. She was born on August 23, 1930 in Imperial, NE; the daughter of the late Spencer and Agatha Davis Cross. She was a 1948 graduate of the Chase County High School, Imperial, NE. On September 19, 1958 in Hastings, NE; she married Everett “Ed” Sutherland, Jr., who preceded her in death on July 2, 2018.

Dixie was a thirty-five-year volunteer with the Bradford Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by three sons, Bill (Linda) Bredengerd of Bradford, Matthew (Elaine) Bredengerd of Augusta, GA and Everett J. (Laurie) Sutherland of Narragansett, RI; one daughter, Teri Cannon of Bradford; one sister-in-law, Donna Tenhundfeld of Cincinnati, OH; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by one brother, Don Cross, one son-in-law, Greg Cannon and one nephew, Patrick Sutherland.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 in the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc. from 6:00 to 7:00 PM with funeral services to immediately follow at 7:00 in the funeral home with Rev. Zoe Hatcher, pastor of Open Arms Community Church, officiating.

Private burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
