Dennis Baldwin, 75, Of, Bradford, PA
“Wait until your Father gets home!” While this phrase was meant to stop the antics of his misbehaving children, sadly, it now holds a different meaning. On June 4, 2024, Dennis “Denny” Dale Baldwin went home to be with the Lord after a courageous battle. His time here with us was far too short, as he had several more jokes to tell and stories to share.
Denny never met a stranger. He could, and did, talk to anyone. His quick wit was unparalleled, and he never passed up the opportunity to help someone.
Born June 13, 1948, in Bradford, he was the son of the late Roger Dale and Phyllis Ann (Norton) Baldwin. He was their middle son. He was a 1966 graduate of Bradford Area High School. Denny was known for his fast cars, as the residents of West Branch and Hedgehog Lane during his high school years could attest to.
He served his country in the US Navy from 1966 to 1970, where he was stationed in Pensacola, Florida. On June 28th, 1969, he married his high school sweetheart, Susan (Collins). He and his Susie-Q moved from Bradford to Rixford in 1976 and resided there until returning to Bradford in 1991. They relocated to Windsor, Ohio in 1996. Denny was a member of the Otto Township Fire Department, and was an Otto Township Trustee. He loved participating in the dice runs at the Fire Department – the more mud the better! He was employed as a truck driver for Quaker State for decades until the refinery closed.
Nothing was more important to Denny than his family. He never missed the opportunity to spend time with them, share his knowledge with them, and make them laugh! Surviving are his amazing wife Sue; son and partner in crime Matthew (Lora) Baldwin of Windsor, Ohio; his favorite daughter Terri (Mike) Fabian of Leroy, Ohio; one brother, Martin Baldwin, of Wellsville, NY; five lovely grand-daughters, Chelsea Baldwin, Jordan Baldwin, Bethany (Tom) Zauszniewski, Hanna Fabian, and Jennifer Baldwin; four great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Rylie, Logan and Raelynn; and his “adopted” daughter Lauri. He will be greatly missed by them all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother and best friend, Jack Baldwin. Now the brothers will be together again, hopefully heaven is ready!
A private burial will be held at Willow Dale Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
