Democrats Donate to Almond Food Pantry

Belmont, NY – The Allegany County Democrats collected nearly 30 bags of non-perishable food and personal care items when they met recently in Almond. The goods were donated to the food pantry operated by the Almond Community Church. This service project is one of the ways the Democratic Committee lives its motto: “Serving our Community”.
According to volunteer Barb Welch, the pantry is open on Tuesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Under the guidance of pantry director Teal Hardy, 58 families were served last month and that number is steadily increasing. Those needing assistance can call (607) 276-6151 for more information.
The Almond Community Church Pantry is located at 11 Main St., Almond and accepts donations of non-perishable food during pantry hours.
Please join the county Democrats on Saturday, April 12 in Belmont for coffee and to support the community’s local food pantry.
