David J. “Bimp” Malone
David J. “Bimp” Malone, 81, of Warren, PA, died early Sunday morning March 30, 2025, at the Warren Manor after a brief illness.
Bimp was born in Warren, PA on December 18, 1943, the son of the late Wallace B. and Dora Troutman Malone. He attended Warren Area High School and graduated in 1962.
After high school, Bimp enlisted in the United States Army. He worked for the New York Central Railroad as a laborer before a 27-year career at Struthers Wells Corporation as a machinist. Following the closure of Struthers Wells, Bimp worked as a machinist at National Forge Company for nine years, and finally as a well tender for KCS Energy in Warren.
Bimp was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church in Warren. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists Local 1328 and the Eagles Club in Warren, where he enjoyed stopping in each afternoon to sign up for the daily drawing. Bimp’s favorite place to be was mowing the lawn with his old Gravely. Over the years, he enjoyed hunting and gardening. He always remembered everyone’s birthdays. Most of all, Bimp loved spending time with his grandkids and always encouraged them to do their best.
On June 28, 1969, Bimp married the former Patricia Neely, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Warren, and she survives.
In addition to his wife, Pat, Bimp is survived by three children, David W. Malone and wife Missy of Randolph, NY, Sally Allinson and husband Bryan of Longwood, FL, and Mandy Straight and husband Ken of Warren, PA; eight grandchildren, Kristen Imhoff, David and Autumn Malone, Jacob, Sadie, and Finan Allinson, and Ellie and Daniel Straight; siblings, Donna Valentine of Orchard Park, NY, Nancy Sorensen of Beavercreek, OH, and Susan Skypeck and husband George of Accokeek, MD; sisters-in-law Frances Means and husband Ken of San Angelo, TX, and Nancy Tweel of Bethel Park, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bimp is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas E. Malone, Sr., and sister, Margie Malone; in-laws Joseph and Dorothy Neely.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home Inc. 304 East Street. Warren, PA, on Thursday April 3, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday April 4, 2025, at 11:00 am in St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Ave. West., Warren, with the Rev. Richard Tomasone, pastor, officiating.
