David G. Anderson, 75, of 6624 Ridgway-Johnsonburg Road, Johnsonburg, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 8, 2024.
He was born to the late J. Richard and Germaine Rippon Anderson on August 26, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA. David resided in the Wilcox and Johnsonburg area for the past forty-plus years. He attended Holy Rosary Grade School, Elk County Christian High School, and Penn State University, where he majored in Materials Engineering.
David enlisted in the Pennsylvania National Guard in 1968 and was activated in the wake of Hurricane Agnes in 1972. He completed his service in 1974.
On December 9, 1972, in Holy Rosary Church, David married the late Nancie R. Sarginger, who preceded him in death on January 10, 2024, after celebrating fifty-one years of marriage.
David is survived by his son, Michael A. Anderson of St. Marys; two brothers: Richard Anderson (Renee) of Massachusetts and Mark R. Anderson of Pittsburgh; and two “adopted” granddaughters, Natalie and Delanie Dunworth, whom he loved dearly.
David worked in the Thermistor Division of Keystone Carbon Company (later GE Thermometrics), where he held positions in production, quality control, and engineering for forty-one years with the company. In his spare time, David enjoyed biking, travelling, and car collecting.
David was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and grandparents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Holy Rosary Church on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 10:00AM with Rev. David Wilson, Pastor, celebrating. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
