David C. SMOKER, 69, of Gold, PA

David C. SMOKER, 69, of Gold, PA, died Friday, February 27, 2026 in UPMC Williamsport. Born October 18, 1956, in Wellsville, NY, he was the son of J. Ivan and Elsie Metzler Smoker.
On March 25, 1978, in Mills Union Church, he married Kathleen Jo Hess, who predeceased him on April 25, 2025. A 1975 graduate of Northern Potter High School, he earned an associate’s degree in diesel mechanics from Williamsport Area Community College.
Dave worked on the family farm with his father and brothers, Dennis, James, and Kevin, until 1998. He and his wife owned and operated Smoker Excavating, Inc., retiring in 2024. Dave was a member of Gold Church. He served on the Northern Potter School Board for 16 years.
Surviving are: son, Joshua L. (Laura) Smoker of Glen Rock; a daughter, Katelyn M. (Kellen) Gerhart of Coudersport; six grandchildren; three brothers, Dennis (Kristine) Smoker, James (Sharon) Smoker, and Kevin (Judy) Smoker, all of Genesee; two sisters, Erma Mae (Leon) Perkins of Rush, NY and Carol (John) Ebersole of Willow Street; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a grandson, Waylon David Gerhart. Friends may call Friday, March 6, 2026 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Gold Church, 2402 S.R. 49W, Ulysses, PA, where Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM. Rev. Cameron Cowburn will officiate. Burial will be in Raymond Cemetery.
