Daniel R. “Pineapple” Hoohuli, 79, of St. Marys, PA.
Daniel R. “Pineapple” Hoohuli, 79, of St. Marys, passed away in Brookville on Saturday, September 7, 2024, following a battle with cancer.
He was born on August 6, 1945 in Kau, Hawaii, a son of the late Hulilani and Dorothy Takata Hoohuli.
Pineapple worked as a laborer at Servco for many years and was a member of the Sacred Heart Church. In his free time, he loved fishing, camping, and cooking. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Pineapple will be remembered as a loving father, teacher, friend, and fiance.
He is survived by his fiance; Stephanie Paget of St. Marys; five children; Joleen (Brock) Genevro of St. Marys; Daniel (Leona) Hoohuli of St. Marys; Samantha (Tim) Dollinger of St. Marys; Cheyenne (Ashton Loss) Copello of McConnellsburg; Sharissa (Tylor) Dillaman of Cochranton; 14 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Wolford Hoohuli of Honolulu; a sister, Dolly Panui of Honolulu; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by several siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Daniel R. Hoohuli will be celebrated on Thursday, September 12th, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 337 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Fr. Thomas Curry, OSB as celebrant.
Family and friends will be received at the Sacred Heart Church on Thursday, September 12th, 2024 from 10:15 AM until the time of the Mass.
