Daniel L. Bothell “beloved brother, father and PapPap”
WHARTON, PA—Daniel L. “Dan” Bothell, 75, of Wharton, PA passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, in UPMC Cole, Coudersport, following a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Born on Tuesday, July 20, 1948 in Creekside, he was a son of Irwin Dean and Therese Gomboc Bothell. On November 16, 1992 in Smicksburg, he married Bonnie L. Haggerty, who passed away on August 2, 2015.
Dan was a graduate of Marion Center High School in Marion Center. He was a US Marine Corps veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He owned and operated Bothell’s Plastering Company in Indiana, PA.
Dan and his wife, Bonnie, moved to Wharton in 1998.
Dan was a member of the Austin-Costello Sportsman’s Club and a member of the East Fork Sportsman’s Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are two sons, Andrew B. (Melissa) Bothell of Wharton and James D. (Lynne) Huller of Jacksonville, NC; four grandchildren, Abigail, Kierstyn, Kinleigh, and Kaine; two brothers, Dean Bothell of Wharton and Don Bothell of Creekside; a sister, Diane Fisher of Indiana, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Dan was predeceased by a brother, Dennis Bothell.
In keeping with Dan’s wishes there will be no formal services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dan’s name may be made to the Austin Ambulance Association, PO Box 328, Austin, PA 16720 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Dan entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
