Daniel Howard, 71, of Route 6 west of Mt. Jewett, PA passed away Monday morning (Dec. 4) at his residence.  

Born Dec. 6, 1951 in Kane, he is the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Degolier) Howard.  On Nov. 8, 1986, in Ridgway, he married Cheryl Mecca, who survives.

Dan graduated from Smethport High School and worked as a Plant Manager at Howes Leather, until it’s closing.  He then worked for Brian Sees.  He was also a Life Member of the Mt. Jewett Volunteer Fire Dept.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Jessica Howard of Kane, Mandy Mix of Mt. Jewett and Brandy Robison of Ridgway; a son Christopher (Heather Carr) Meloni of Mt. Jewett; three grandsons, Bryan Mawn and Blayne and Dayne Tadder; three granddaughters, Raeley Meloni and Jenna and April Mix; a daughter-in-law, Brenna Whitman and five nieces, Yvonne, Sara, Diana, Heather and Nikki.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Joe Howard; one sister, Cherylene Jeffords and two sons-in-law, Michael Mix and Dave Robison.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
