Crews to Install New Active Warning Devices at DuBois Rail Crossings
Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that Progress Rail will install new active warning devices at the rail crossings along Route 255 (East DuBois Avenue) in DuBois on Tuesday, March 19. Crews will be working at the crossings located at the intersection of Route 219 and Route 255 and the intersection of Route 255 and Division Street.
Although crews will work predominantly off the roadway and traffic impacts are expected to be minimal, PennDOT urged drivers to build extra time into their travel schedules because there will be periods of intermittent flagging while this work takes place.
PennDOT anticipates this work taking approximately a month to complete. It also reminds motorists to use caution near the work zone, remain alert for railroad operators and equipment, approach railroad crossings carefully, and “always expect a train.”
